Contractor Marketing 2-Minute Tuesday: SEO for Contractors

Welcome to Contractor Marketing, “Two-Minute Tuesday,” I’m Brodie Tyler with Inbound Systems and I’m bringing you the quickest, most valuable, and most profitable two minutes of your week.

Today, in under two minutes, I’m covering the topic, “SEO for contractors”

Ready. Set. Go!

To be honest with you, SEO for contractors is something we can talk about for 8 hours a day, for an entire week, and not cover everything you need to know. And I only have two minutes so I’m going to make it really basic.

There are three components that your search engine optimization needs when you want to market your contracting business online. What’s nice about SEO, it’s that free traffic. Once you have your website and you have everything optimized, you can still continue to get traffic to your website from that work. So that’s why I like SEO.

Three components are:

# 1 – Content

#2 – People

#3 – Places

Content – you have to have articles, images and videos. You have to have something you can publish online and you want to make sure it’s interesting and engaging and that it speaks to the people you’re targeting – your audience, your target market. What are their demographic and psychographics. What motivates them? What makes them happy?

You want to create this content so it appeals to your audience and utilize keywords they might type into Google to search for your services or whatever topic you talked about [below].

You have the content you created for the right people, and finally, you want to publish it where they’re going to see it online; in the places they hang out. Maybe it’s your website — if you do have this content placed on your website, Google will recognize it and index your website, which gives you more visibility and traffic.

You also want to publish it on third-party websites. Other local websites or industry related websites that can link back to your website and drive traffic that way; Google likes that optimization as well.

Finally, your social media. Publish this content on your social media and share it with your audience!

That’s it! Thanks for watching, Contractor Marketing, “Two-Minute Tuesday”

To your inbound marketing success!
