Contractor Marketing 2-Minute Tuesday: How Can Lead Magnets Help Me Attract Marketing Leads?

Welcome to Contractor Marketing, “Two-Minute Tuesday,” I’m Brodie Tyler with Inbound Systems and I’m bringing you the quickest, most valuable, and most profitable two minutes of your week.

Today, in under two minutes, I’m answering the question, “How can lead magnets help me attract contracting leads?”

Ready. Set. Go!

Ok, so first of all, what is a lead magnet? A lead magnet is something that you offer your potential audience, your target market in exchange for their contact information. As you offer them something of value they’re going to find your website and offer you their contact information. At that point, they change from being a visitor to becoming a lead. A name with an address, maybe a phone number, somebody that you can actually follow up with.

So let me give you some examples of lead magnets — it can be a PDF report, it can be a coupon, checklist, a video, a consultation, it may also be a free estimate or an in-home consultation. It can also be a DVD or CD that you put together and offer them. A book, an electronic or eBook as well. It doesn’t matter really what format your lead magnet is, as long as it’s valuable to your audience so they’re willing to give up their name and phone number for it.

Let me give you another reason why lead magnets are something you wanna employ in your inbound marketing. You have the option of buying contracting leads out there. The problem with that is you’re often up against two or three or four other contractors for that particular job. The nice thing about lead magnets is it can help you to eliminate the competition and generate your own leads.

Let me give you two, quick examples of some effective lead magnets that we’ve used with a roofing company.
